The web3 space is pretty new for everyone and I am excited to see a lot more attention is being brought to it. The blockchain technology integrated with current applications has made digital access more valuable for users.
Hence, I saw an opportunity to improve online gaming experience especially for skill games. I love playing both chess and poker with my friends or with others online especially via VR, but the accessibility to currency based platforms is very limited. Therefore, the need for GAMBITBOX has emerged.
GAMBIT a strategy, BOX a place. GAMBITBOX a place where you can strategize. Where like minded people can gather around and network, while enjoying the rush of the game (win-to-earn SOL).
Skill games such as chess, poker, go and mahjong have been widely respected and played for centuries, and even nowadays people gather around them. For example it is rumored that the world’s biggest crypto exchange has begun with a friendly poker game where Changpeng Zhao (now Binance CEO) played with Bobby Lee, then CEO of BTC China, and investor Ron Cao, who both encouraged him to get into bitcoin. I am sure that GAMBITBOX will reach their level, but in crypto gaming (as the top skill game platform in the world.)
Regarding the GAMBITBOX’s dApp, is to enable anyone to access the platform where you can participate in tournaments and one-to-one game playing chess, poker, go and mahjong with an opportunity to win SOL (Solana Blockchain).
Solana Blockchain is Layer 1 Blockchain Protocol provides the bases of web 3, a decentralized and scalable protocol that you can build applications on. One amongst many protocols, Solana Blockchain based on Proof of History has emerged as the most robust protocol to use, thanks to its speed and affordability. Moreover, their rich ecosystem provides a much more exciting environment to interact with and a lot of useful services to use.
dApps stands for 'decentralized applications'. Same as any app it provides a utility to a user. The difference is that dapps safeguards user privacy and it is censorship resistant. It all achieves that by running it's digital applications on a blockchain network of computers instead of relying on a single computer.
You might be asking how we are going to build a decentralized gaming app where anyone will be able to access and win-to-earn SOL ? Well, you can check the webpage to learn what tools we will be using or ask me any questions:) I will also be releasing more technical article guides for weeks and months to come.
In the meantime, we are releasing NFT Collections with academic themes to them and just a few days ago released a FORUM, where anyone can write a blog and learn/share their insight/strategies in prospective fields.
In addition, we have VR immersive spaces already where people can give a presentation or have fun by sharing their screen and watching Netflix together (also accessible via webpage 3d environment)
Here is our roadmap outlined in four stages to see what else is coming to GAMBITBOX platform.
Stage 1. (2022 Q1 ~ Q3)
Gambitbox NFT Art Collections will be released for minting. Each collection will feature scientists, economists, philosophers, and other figures that helped us understand the world a little better before they left us. It is not just an art token. Holders of NFT will have premium access to upcoming features in Gambitbox Metaverse from being able to host both private and public games to customizing your room for monetization. (Finally, the funds raised will be invested back into the development of the platform.)
Stage 2. (2022 Q4 ~ 2023 Q3)
The four most widely played skill games (chess, poker, go and mahjong) will be released for competitive gameplay (2d). Tournaments and one-on-one gameplay will be held with the opportunity to win-to-earn Solana. Seasonal awards will be distributed to players who are at the top of the leaderboard during a specified timeframe.
Stage 3. (2023 Q3 ~ Q4)
The next step in evolution will be from 2D to 3D gameplay where you will be able to interact in a VR environment. Cyberpunk theme design rooms using Unity 3D and voice chat will be implemented for immersive experience. Similar to 2D gameplay, you will be able to participate in win-to-earn tournaments and one-on-one gameplay as well as have an opportunity to get additional Solana rewards through seasonal leaderboard score.
Stage 4. (2024~)
The final frontier is the release of our Metaverse. Gambitbox City - a public playground from nightclubs to parks as well as stores and auctions; Zen Park - public chess tables where anyone can meet one another and compete ; Gambitbox Nightclub - public poker tables where the rush of high stakes tables attract the crowd; NFT Auctions - public gallery where people can offer their NFT for the highest bidder; stores - a place you can discover in game items and even get real products delivered to your house (e-commerce).
